These Terms of Service govern your use of Altostratus and Rudis, operated by Arctic Bison LLC. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Accounts are identified by an anonymous handle and secured by a recovery key. No email address, phone number, or Ieal name is required. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your recovery key. Arctic Bison cannot recover a lost recovery key — there is no alternative recovery mechanism.
You may not create accounts for the purpose of circumventing access restrictions, impersonating others, or facilitating prohibited uses described in Section 5.
Altostratus subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Available tiers: Operator ($149/month or $1,490/year), Team ($499/month or $4,990/year), Infrastructure ($1,499/month or $14,990/year), and Enterprise SI (custom pricing).
Payment method. All payments are made in cryptocurrency only: Bitcoin (on-chain), Lightning Network, or Monero. No credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or fiat payment method is accepted. No payment identity is collected or stored.
No refunds. All payments are final. Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, and Arctic Bison does not issue refunds for subscription fees. If a payment dispute arises, contact sales@altostratus.com.
Non-payment. Failure to renew a subscription may result in suspension of access to the platform. Infrastructure provisioned through the platform is not automatically decommissioned upon subscription lapse; you remain responsible for resources provisioned at your connected providers.
Altostratus operates as a control plane that connects to infrastructure providers using credentials you supply. You are solely responsible for all resources provisioned through the platform, including associated costs billed by your providers.
Provider credentials you supply are stored encrypted. You represent that you are authorized to use the credentials you provide and that your use of connected provider accounts complies with those providers' terms of service.
Altostratus includes an Emergency Decommission feature that, when confirmed, irreversibly destroys all infrastructure associated with your account: instances are stopped and deleted, platform credentials are wiped, and encryption keys are revoked. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your account record (handle and subscription status) is not deleted by Emergency Decommission. You are responsible for any provider-side costs or consequences resulting from emergency decommission of your infrastructure.
You may use Altostratus and Rudis for lawful purposes. You may not use the platform to:
Arctic Bison reserves the right to suspend accounts that are found to be in violation of this section. Given the anonymous nature of accounts, enforcement is based on operational behavior rather than identity.
Arctic Bison provides the platform on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted availability. The platform may be modified, updated, or temporarily unavailable for maintenance. Arctic Bison is not liable for any loss or damage arising from platform unavailability or changes to features.
The Altostratus platform, its design, and its proprietary components are the intellectual property of Arctic Bison LLC. Rudis is open-source software published under the MIT License. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of Arctic Bison intellectual property to you.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. ARCTIC BISON DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ARCTIC BISON DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT OPERATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARCTIC BISON LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOST OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF INFRASTRUCTURE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. ARCTIC BISON'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ARCTIC BISON IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.
Arctic Bison may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
